Privacy Policy
Effective 2026 · Draft pending counsel review
ClearSky Solar(“ClearSky”, “we”) respects your privacy and is committed to transparent handling of personal information. This policy describes what we collect, why, and how it's used, in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Nova Scotia's applicable privacy laws.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly — name, email, phone number, service address, monthly NS Power bill amount, and any notes you include — when you request an assessment, contact us, or sign up for updates.
When you submit a form, we also record technical details with your submission — your IP address and browser user-agent — to help prevent spam and abuse. Separately, we collect basic, aggregated usage data (pages visited, device/browser type) via privacy-friendly analytics so we can improve the site.
How we use it
- To prepare and deliver your solar assessment and proposal.
- To coordinate scheduling, permits, and installation with you and trades.
- To answer questions you send us.
- To improve the site (aggregated, non-identifying analytics).
Who we share with
Operational partners. We share information only with parties needed to deliver the work you've asked for — for example, equipment suppliers, electricians, municipal permit offices, or NS Power for net-metering enrollment. We do not sell your information, and we do not share your contact details with marketers.
Service providers (data processors). To run our intake and follow-up, your submission is handled by a small set of trusted providers acting on our behalf: Supabase (secure database storage), monday.com (our customer relationship system), and Resend (email delivery of your request to our team). These providers process the data only to provide their service to us.
Where your data is processed
Some of the service providers above store and process data on servers located outside Canada (including the United States). Where that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We use reputable providers and share only what's needed to deliver your assessment.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses essential cookies (for the contact form) and may use privacy-friendly analytics to measure overall traffic patterns. We do not run advertising trackers. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time.
Retention
If you become a customer, we keep assessment-related records for as long as needed to operate, support, and warranty your installation, and as required by Canadian tax and electrical-safety regulations.
If your inquiry does not lead to an installation, we keep the lead record for up to 24 months so we can follow up, then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time (see “Your rights” below).
Your rights
Under PIPEDA, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, or ask us to delete information that's no longer required. Send the request to hello@clearskysolar.ca and we'll respond within 30 days.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted internal access, and reputable hosting providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information like our own.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when our practices change. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version.
